Candidates are stirring in last minute stations.
Tired of commercials, signs, and rallies,
Voters tune out in hopes of surviving.
Over the TV, we hear the announcer cry
On Bush and Cheney! On Kerry and Edwards!
On Peroutka, Badnarik, and Nader!
Lawyers for both drool and foam
With papers in hand, they march and roam.
Off to the courtrooms they go!
“If we cannot win with the numbers,
We will have the judges take sides.”
After two years of campaigning, we of the Republic
Hope the winners and losers will say
“Happy election to all – and to all we will go away.”
